Pet and animal portraits in pastel
Hello! I’m Tracey
I’m an artist from Holywell, North Wales. I love to create pastel portraits and paintings of pets and animals from photographs.
I had only painted very occasionally over the years since I left school but always wanted to be a full time artist and after 40 years working in admin and schools etc I am finally living the dream with my own little art business! I LOVE animals and therefore love painting pet portraits and wildlife (and Highland Cows)! I also love the sea (in particular – Anglesey) and enjoy painting the occasional seascape.
Having always worked in watercolour, I joined Holywell Art Club in August 2023, discovered pastels and fell in love! Therefore pastel is now my primary medium. I deliver demonstrations to art groups and clubs so please get in touch if this is something you would be interested in!
Last year, I was invited to join the professional group – ART North Wales (see website – www.artnorthwales.co.uk, and social media – @artnorthwales) where you can see some of my work and the work of many fabulous North Wales artists. As a member of this group, I have exhibited at the Royal Cambrian Academy in Conwy. I also take part in the annual Clwydian Creatives Art Trail demonstrating live, and also Conwy Arts Festival Art Trail which include 2 days of “en plain air” (outside) painting live at Bodnant Gardens and a 4-day Affordable Art Fair (see events section below).
I am so pleased to announce that I have recently been invited to become a member of the Association of Animal Artists!

Commissioning a painting
Photographs need to be clear and of good quality and more than one for colour reference etc is also helpful. Backgrounds for pet portraits can be plain or an abstract wash and will be discussed in a brief telephone/zoom call to ensure your painting is produced exactly as you want. (Detailed backgrounds are available but may be subject to additional cost.)
If you are not sure if your photograph or ‘the pose’ are suitable then please dont hesitate to contact me and we can discuss this. Oh…and I always like to have a pet’s name so I “get to know them” a little too!
All paintings will be supplied in a smart white mount, with backing board and a clear cellophane bag (not framed).

Paintings are supplied in a smart white, card mount and cellophane cover but NOT framed.
Price does NOT include postage, although this can be arranged at extra cost.
A 50% deposit will be payable before painting commences.
